Nicholas (Nick) Chacon is the Laboratory Technician for The Kavli Nanoscience Institute (KNI) at The California Institute of Technology. In his role he supports his fellow team members with daily laboratory operations, maintenance and troubleshooting. He is responsible for special projects that enhance the overall organization, efficiency and continuity of the network of equipment and facilities within the KNI Lab.
 
Nick recently joined Caltech in March 2020 in his current role at the KNI.

Nick holds the following certifications: NASA-STD-8739.3, NASA-STD-8739.4 and IPC-610 (Soldering), and ABB Robotics Electrical and Mechanical Troubleshooting US421. He has experience in PCB assemblies, sub-assemblies, systems and sub-systems, as well as advanced knowledge of vacuum systems and electronic and mechanical fabrication techniques of complex mechanical and electronic parts/equipment.

Role in the KNI
